Two stars of dance at the Teatre Grec

Sylvie Guillem and Akram Khan two international stars of dance are in Barcelona with Sacred Monsters, directed by Khan and performed by both of them. The performance demonstrates the relationship between ballet and one of the classic Indian dances kathak.

Akram Khan was in Mahabharata, by Peter Brook, for fourteen years. In 2000 he created his own dance company, and today is one of the top choreographers in Britain. Sylvie Guillem, who is in the city for the first time, has worked with some of the most outstanding choreographers, such as Maurice Béjart, William Forsythe and Mats Ek. Both dancers have been trained in classic dance, and both have an intense desire for its renovation.
